Lasers are highly effective in resurfacing facial defects. This includes scars, acne scars, wrinkles and pigment.
Wrinkles around the eyes and mouth are bothersome to most of us, and they don’t go away with cremes or cosmetic treatments.
Resurfacing renews the outermost portions of our skin, leading to new collagen and elastin formation as the body repairs the damage. The results is newer, more evenly pigmented skin, restoring a youthful look.
Resurfacing is well tolerated, especially when done with a picolaser, such as the StarWalker PQX. This picolaser fractional treatment has a very low risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is a significant risk when using other lasers in darker skinned patients. With a fractional approach, the downtime is limited and the procedure is better tolerated than a full ablative laser.
